West Oakland ADU

What started off as a garage conversion to create a dream gym and indoor-outdoor hosting space, became a saving grace when twins (and a mother-in-law) soon arrived. In this West Oakland project we maximized habitable space by transforming underutilized garage storage space into a sunny 800 SF one-bedroom accessory dwelling unit, adding an interior stair to make the new ground floor program easily accessible, and added much needed storage space and a new deck to the existing primary bedroom upstairs.
